2010 – raising funds for Friends of the Elderly

For 2010, we are raising funds for Friends of the Elderly and a key part of our fundraising activity was to cover '9 Lakes in 9 hours'. Once again a team of four from Selftrade took part, alongside colleagues from across the SG group.. By foot, mountain bike and kayak we navigated our way around 9 lakes in the Lake District in just 9 hours. 18 miles of mountain biking both on and off road, through forests and up dales, a 7 mile trekking to the 3,100 foot peak of Helvellyn and back down, followed by canoeing on Ullswater to the finish.

Selftrade charity team

Overall, the event has raised some £15,000 to date. Our corporate contacts and Selftrade colleagues have pitched-in to help our fund raising efforts. If you'd like to support this worthwhile cause you can donate via justgiving >
